The NBA’s official website has updated its logo to a version that shows the Mohawk crest on the logo and the words “NBA Basketball.”
The logo features a stylized Mohawk, with a red cross in the middle and a yellow crescent on the crown.
The color red was chosen as a reference to the “red tide” in New Orleans in 1833, which is the city’s color of mourning.
The NBA said it also used the red color because it is one of the only color schemes that will continue to be used in the league.
The league said the new logo is not affiliated with the new NBA All-Star game that begins Feb. 19 in Las Vegas.
The logo also includes a black and white logo on the top, with two lines on the bottom.
The league said it chose the black and yellow to highlight the Mohawks heritage, which dates back to the late 1800s.
The red and yellow also highlight the connection between the NBA and the city of Milwaukee, which was founded in 1792.
